Sleepless nights again!
So far this week Maddox has reverted back to eating every hour and a half to two hours. I mean MAN, this boy can eat. I don't know what caused the change. I feel like a zombie people. I look a hot mess and can't wait for this phase to be over. Pray for me ya'll.

Mykel's first carnival!
My mother spotted a carnival in passing and called me up to see if I was interested in taking Mykel to it. I loved the idea so I packed up the kiddos and we headed straight there. As soon as I pulled in the parking lot, I began to hear Ooo's and Ahh's coming from the backseat of my car. She was beyond excited. After i unloaded the car and met up with my mom, we went to go buy tickets. Mykel was a little too short to ride everything so I had to purchase a ticket to ride the rides with her. We started out with the little rides and made are way up to the bigger ones.
Mykel had the time of her life and thats what its all about. I loved getting to see her that excited. I wish Nile could have been there too, but I captured it all on tape. It was a great day minus the nausea. YUCK!
Angie's Baby Shower
The babies and I attended one of my besties baby shower yesterday and had a blast. I just love baby showers. Angie is 35 weeks and barely looks pregnant. I don't know how that girl does it. It so happens that Angie and I had our daughters around the same time (they are 4 weeks apart) and now our second children will be approximately 2 months apart. Not only do our children get to grow up together but it makes it easy to share stories and compare notes. We understand each other perfectly since we go through the same things at about the same time.
Anyways, the shower turned out amazing, and it was fun hanging out with the girls. I was even able to have a couple of hours baby free due to the line of people waiting to hold Maddox. Again, he did amazing, slept the entire time. Oh, and i won a game! The sippy cup game that is. We were racing to see who could finish their sippy cup first. BTW, a lot harder than you think! My tongue and jaw muscles were so sore after that, but hey, I won a kingsize Hershey's bar so it was worth it.

Mama's Little Helper
When Nile and I first brought the baby home things were a little touch and go with Mykel. She would say the baby is "SOOO CUTE!" but then she would be jealous that he was using all her old stuff. I have been trying to let Mykel know that some things are big girl things and some are baby things, but to her, there is NO DIFFERENCE. According to her, they are ALL her things. So, in effort to tame her jealousy, I started incorporating her in everything I do during the day. Whether that was, giving the baby a bath, to changing and feeding the baby, to cooking and baking, as well as singing to the baby when he starts crying. She took well to this. I guess she was just feeling a little left out.
NOW, I can't get her to stop helping. She does not like it when the baby is crying. So, as soon as he starts to get a little fussy she is stuffing the pacifier into his mouth and then she tells him "It's Otay, stop crying, stop crying." Its all too cute....but for the kicker..... My midwife said that this might happened but it didn't happen until a couple days ago. Mykel has started to take care of her baby dolls like I take care of Maddox. So as my little copy cat, she goes to get her baby because I said that Maddox was hungry. As I begin to nurse him, I turn to my right and there Mykel is nursing her baby doll. She had the whole doll under her shirt and then proceeded to burp her moments later. I wish I had a picture to show you guys, it was all too cute. However, I am not sure how I am supposed to handle that situation or if I need to do anything at all. Any suggestions?

Girls Night Out + 1
Tonight marked the first night out with the girls. I dropped Mykel off at Playtime ( an hourly daycare center). Which, by the way, is great for spur of the moment plans. You never have to worry about getting a sitter because they are open everyday and night. So, parents if you live in the 76131 or surrounding areas....get your date nights in, no excuses!!! Anywho, with one child down and the other in tow, I headed downtown to meet the girls at a charity wine tasting and then to eat at Gloria's. It was so much fun. Oh and the cupcakes or mini bundt cakes they had were TO DIE FOR. I was able restrict myself to just one, but OOOooo Weee I wanted to grab the whole platter and stuff them into my purse. I thought, "Hmmm...If I only had a large ziplock bag." Just talking about them makes my mouth water. Enough on the cupcakes. I am beginning to sound like a have a food problem.
Maddox, once again, surprised everyone. He barely made a peep. He was just looking around taking it all in. He is turning out to be the easiest baby in the world. Gotta love that kid. There now is one spot in girls night held especially for Maddox. I just know Nile is going to love that. NOT!

SLEEP..........
Maddox slept for 4 hours without getting up to eat last night. OMGoodness! Fluke? or Break-threw? I will hope for the latter. Its amazing how refreshed you can feel after getting consecutive hours of sleep. My brother asked if I spiked his milk. No, no rum, i don't know what happened. It happened twice though. Thats right, TWO 4 hour stretches! Maybe it was something I ate? Or maybe he is going to be a good sleeper. Who knows. All I know is that I am loving it and I am feelin' good, feelin' great. I had almost forgotten what sleep was. Now I remember CLEARLY, "IT'S THE BEST THING EVER!" So grateful. "I LOVE SLEEPING BABIES!"

2 Week Check Up
Maddox and I had our two week check up the other day and he weighed in at 11 lbs 10 oz and was 23 inches long. It is amazing how fast babies grow. I couldn't believe it when they told me. WAIT! Yes, I could, because he already grew out of newborn sizes. He now is in the 0- 3 category. His blood was taken for the second time and he didn't cry or make a peep. I guess as long as he is nursing, all is right in his world. I also took some time and get a picture taken with our favorite midwife, Sarah Jones. She has been nothing but good to us from start to finish. LOVE LOVE LOVE this woman!
Mykel wanted to take a picture as well.

Up all night
So, I have been up all night with the baby because he wants to eat every hour and a half. I read that they go through mini growth spurts where they will do this. The books say it should only last a week, and I am counting on that to be accurate information because I have reached a state of exhaustion that can't possibly be healthy. PLUS! Mykel is sick with some stomach bug and burning up, so I am pulling double duty tonight trying to soothe children and put them back to sleep. I have found a new appreciation for single mothers. I don't know how they do it. I couldn't imagine doing this and then going to work the next day. I am pretty sure that if I showed up to a job in my condition, I would be fired. Please pray for me ya'll and Mykel's quick recovery as well. I just hate it when she is sick. Its like someone just sucked the life right out of her.

First Football Game
So, being the crazy mother that I am, I decided to take my 10 day old baby to a college football game. However, in my defense, the game was held at the SPANKIN' NEW Cowboys Stadium. I just had to see it! So I put the baby in the front pack and enjoyed a nice outing with the hubby and brothers + Miranda. It was something else and we got to see good friends, old and new in the process. The baby did EXCELLENTE! He slept through most of it and he only ate twice. Fun stuff, definitely, Fun stuff.
Please no more pictures!!
Our baby boy!
After waiting two EXTRA weeks for him, he FINALLY arrived August 25th, 2010 at 1:43 am. I was amazed how fast labor and delivery went this time around. Only 3 hours compared to the 28 hours of H-E- double hockey sticks that his sister put me through. Since I had so much trouble with the hospital birth of Mykel I decided to go all NATURAL this time. That means no intervention and NO DRUGS people. I will admit, there were times that I didn't think I could do it, but I DID and I am pretty proud of myself for doing so. I had the best midwife ever. I definitely couldn't have done it without her and Nile did a pretty good job at assisting as well. I had planned on doing a water birth but because of the surprise extra pounds on the baby I wasn't able to. Overall, I would definitely go the birth center route again, not that I have any plans of doing so in the near future. Everything is still TOO FRESH, TOO SOON to even consider that right now if you know what I mean. I am just going to enjoy the two I have right now because I barely have enough energy to keep up as it is. Loving my babies right now. Life is good.
Getting Started
So, I thought I would start blogging to keep my husband updated on everything he is missing. To those of you who don't know. Nile is currently in Japan, while the kids and I are in Fort Worth, Tx. We just had or second child (Maddox Cade) when Nile had to ship off for the season. So, hence the blog to keep him informed. I am extremely new to this. But here goes!!!!
