Mad is 7 months!

Mad gained 3 lbs and grew 3.5 inches this month!  I was shocked so I measured him myself a million times.  I know Mad went through a growth spurt but the difference in height and weight makes me wonder if last months were measured incorrectly.
Height: 32 inches =  above 95th percentile
Weight: 27.8  =  above 95th percentile
Head Circumference:  18.3 inches =  between 90- 95th percentile.

The boy is becoming quite the little actor.   He will let you know exactly what he wants and when he wants it.  Most of the time he wants me.  He has started crying at the drop of a hat when I'm not in his line of vision.  As soon as I return, he magically stops crying, I mean INSTANTLY.  It is pretty ridiculous.  It started out kind of cute....but now NOT so cute.  The little boy thinks he has me whipped.  Well, I guess since I keep falling for it, I kind of am.  Psssh...Oh well, can't win them all.
He also learned the word and sign for milk, however, he hasn't learned to sign it himself yet.  I know this because everytime I sign or say the word milk, Mad gets VERY excited.  No one is allowed to eat around him without sharing or making sure he has something to nibble on as well.  I KNEW HE WAS MY SON! The boy is still a ball full of joy though.  It is so fun to watch him these days. It's as if he learns something new every day.  I love it!

Now he can:  Dance to music ( meaning sways side to side)
He has learned the Pincer grasp ( picking up food/ objects using pointer finger and thumb)
Still attempts to standing alone:  only for a few seconds at a time
He is becoming interested in Mykel's TV shows.

I like :  Cream of wheat
           Bananas
           Chewing/ Sucking on my fingers
           Gerber puffs
Banging on Mommy's computer ( although it makes mommy upset)

My Refuge

So many emotions have been running through me since the the disaster took place.  I have been frightened, worried, resentful, thankful, and calmed.  It has definitely become a defining moment of my life.  After being so terrified of the unknown and uncertainty about our situation, Nile wrote something that brought me some perspective. He said, "Have no fear, the Lord is with me always."  Upon reading this, my mind, heart, and soul were immediately calmed.  For days, I had been drowning in fear when I should have been looking to Him.  I was so focused on what I didn't know, when I should have been focusing on what I DO KNOW.
I realized the important thing to remember in the midst of the chaos is that GOD IS IN CONTROL. He is not surprised by the events that have taken place and He is not unsure how He is going to take care of his children. We are just as safe putting our trust in Him when things are going great as when it looks like everything is falling around us.

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. (Psalm 62:1-2)

The Earthquake

As you all know Japan was hit pretty bad by earthquakes as well as the tsunami.  My heart goes out to the city of Sendai and all those who lost love ones due to the diaster.  It was very scary waiting to hear if your friends are safe and well.  So many scenarios run through your mind while you are hoping and praying for the best possible outcome.  My family and I are so thankful that we were so far removed from the event, but hope that we can contribute to help those that were not as fortunate.  Please, please keep Japan in your prayers.

Mad is 6 months!

Mad gained less than a pound this month!  Maybe my big boy will start slimming up soon? LOL!  According to his measurements he hasn't grown as much this month as he has the previous months.
Height: 28 1/4 in =  ranks between 90- 95th percentile
Weight: 24.6 lbs =  above 95th percentile
Head Circumference:  18.1 inches =  between 90- 95 percentile.
The boy is a mess.   We can no longer put Mad in the middle of the bed and expect him to still be in the     same spot. He is also starting to favor his Mama.

Now he can:  Pull up to standing
                     Walk the furniture
Attempted to stand on his own (just this morning)
                     Throw temper tantrums

I like :  Chewing on raw veggies
           Pizza crusts
           My singing glow worm
           Standing up

Standing on his own!!!  He was holding on to the chair and he let go.  He stood long enough for me to snap a picture.  GOOOOO Maddox!

ABSOLUTE FAILURE

I decided it was about time to start getting back into a workout routine.  I needed a little push to get into the game so I thought I would try a new workout program called INSANITY.  A friend of mine had mentioned that she was giving it a go, so she sent it to me so that I could try too.
WELLLLL (insert sigh)...I guess I am in worse shape than I thought.  Granted I haven't done a hard workout since I got pregnant last November, so my expectations weren't high.  I COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW BAD I DID!!!!  I couldn't even get through the Day 1 FIT TEST.  I mean, I felt like I was going to pass out.  REALLY?!?!  Pass out after not 30 or 20 or 15 minutes, but 10!!!  To say that I am disappointed in myself is an understatement.  I know what you are thinking, it's ridiculous right?   Honestly, guys I couldn't keep going.   My kids were asleep, my husband was at practice and all I could imagine is myself passed out of the floor and Mykel getting up from her nap to find me there.  I LITERALLY had to stop.
Sooooo I am going to try again tomorrow.  I am so hoping that I was just overtired, didn't eat enough, or that there is some other explanation behind this because I REFUSE to believe that I am that pathetic.  (Shaking my head)
